Tocchet has been very diplomatic with his approach to reffing. Even before he didn't call out reffing. Just said we haven't been getting as many calls lately. Which is just a fact. Then we got some calls. Yes, that was one of the worst non calls ever. But in game 7 of the regular season? It's not really a call worth losing your mind over in the grand scheme of things. Pick your battles. Or even just don't go at the refs at all, which seems to be Tocchet's style. Which is fine.

That is the problem with the nhl. Teams needs to call refs out or else there is no accountability. That is the problem with the nhl reffing for a long while.

This being diplomatic approach ain't working. If nothing else it got worse.

Time to mandate refs being required for post game interviews.

I’ve liked the way he’s done it. I’ve also liked that JR and PA have kept their upper management noses out and kept focus on dealing out bad contracts!

Getting a point in this one, on a back to back with the backup in net vs a top team… pretty impressive.

but the best part is their overall play coming together a few games in a row now.  A disappointing loss should keep them focused and hungry for Halloween vs the Preds.

Oh.. and love the Myers and Soucy bounce back.  Knew they were better than they looked for awhile there.

Not really. Special teams absolutely killed us. Even strength, we were amazing. Requires both to have a good game.

When 2 of the goals scored against were 5 on 3 you can still say the team played well

There are ways to call attention to this that doesn't involve crying in post game interviews. The team can reach out the the NHL and complain that way. Going at the refs through the media didn't work in the past, no reason to expect it to work now. Notice Tocchet's diplomatic approach about how we haven't gotten calls lately got us a bunch of powerplays last night and tonight, 10 powerplays between 2 games. Sometimes just throwing little peanuts out there can have an effect.

Didn't they score twice with 2 men advantages. Your stats are misleading!

Not my stats.

Each team took 6 penalties.  Canucks took 5 but 1 was a double minor ....

Some NYR PPs were over laping hence the 2 man advantages..

Canucks scored 1/6

NYR scored 3/6
