Popular Post Smashian Kassian
Didn't realize Lekkerimaki is the only Canuck prospect to ever win the U20 tourney MVP, and we've had some good performances; Schroeder, Hodgson, Pettersson, even Podz, exc. Great accomplishment. This has been an amazing bounce back year thus-far for Lekkerimaki, he's starring in the SHL & showing out against his age-group. Hes almost taken 2 steps in 1 year, he's performing as if there was no injury problems last season & this was all continual. Really excited to see him come to NA. He's a high-end complimentary scorer through & through. And he has the fire+work ethic to make it happen. 7 1

Canuck Jim Sandlak won the top forward award in 1986, as Canada's captain. Other Canucks to win as forwards were Sundstrom, Skriko, Kron and Bure. Canucks defensemen who have won are Slegr and Ohlund Cheers amigo. Thanks for info... Looking at that list, everyone has gone on to have decent to really good careers on that list... bodes really well for the future. Sativika
Our PP for the near future looks bright with Leks and Petey's shot prowess. Can't wait!
kettlevalley
Very happy with Lekkerimaki's progress this year and accomplishments. But what I am most happy about is the overall change towards development by management. What I mean is the attitude towards the farm as a development team, proactive attempts to bring players progressing into the Abby program, showing us what they hope to achieve through communication through the media. I just hope as we have more and more players ready to make the jump that we leave room on the roster for these players to compete for spots. Personally I think we have three forwards who need to have the opportunity to make the jump next year (Pods, Bains and Karlsson) and really hope the only way they break into the roster next season is not Hogs spot, as that kid needs more opportunity not less.
MikeyD
Lek is one of those prospects that is actually outperforming his development curve. His game is more mature by a significant margin than when we drafted him. Really pleased with how he's turning out. 1 1

He's our guy it's great to see him light it up! He will beat NHL goalies with his shot when he gets it on net. No question that boy slaps more than a Seinfeld intro. I don't gravitate towards this style of player but that's a me thing I liked Kemell if we were dipping from this well because he has some Jarko Ruutu to his game along w the shot. And as a hockey fan I liked that more. Who's better at hockey I dunno but Alvin is growing on me. Credit where it's due. He did what he said he would do. I wanted and would have picked Bichsel of the 4 big D (Warren, Lamoureux, Pickering) Alvin said no I can get those guys that's my job. And drafted Lex. He picked up Soucy Zadorov this year for peanuts and it sounds like there's an extension in the works for Z. So I'd say he delivered. Lekkerimaki is gravy. Sergiomomesso
This kid is a gamer. Didn’t like what the yanks (Gauthier) did to his fans after locking down the win and wasn’t afraid to let him know about it. Might have a little Peter Forsberg in him. Can’t wait to see if he can make the adjustment to NA pro and be that guy Petey can feed one timers to all year long. Yep. And i love the resources pouring into development - not every organization has guys like the Sedins to work on players’ skills.
204CanucksFan
Lekkerimäki with an assist today against Frölunda. The goal broke a goalless drought of just over 186 minutes for Orebro.
