Looking forward to this game against a quality opponent - I had the Stars my dark horse team this preseason as they have been knocking on the door for several years now.

The Canucks have actually been pretty consistent all year 5 on 5 - in their losses they encountered penalty trouble  - No problem with them taking a penalty to nullify a golden opportunity but please stay away from those offensive zone penalties.  The Stars have quite a few players that can score.

If they can minimize the short handed situations, probably gives them a chance tonight with 5-on-5 play.

Hopefully they keep it tight - will be very happy with a W even if it is a 1-0 snooze fest as wins are what we are looking for this year.  Go Canucks !

Connor McDavid - "Cup or Bust"

The Stanley Cup - "Hold my Beer"

Draisaitl is the one who said "cup or bust"

Either way. They're playing horrible hockey. Lost 8 of 10 games.  Crazy.

Connor McDavid: 'It's Cup or bust' for the Edmonton Oilers

“It’s Cup or bust for this group,” said McDavid. “With where everyone is at in their career, that’s the expectation. So, there is just that empty feeling you’re left with.

So the Coilers seem to have a worse start than the Canucks did last year. Could they actually miss the playoffs?

No, no, no Grand...we don't want that to happen.  Chances are they end up with the 1st overall, ONCE AGAIN!

They seem to be on edge lately.

Their dreams are falling apart.  McDavid and Draisaitl were supposed to bring them the cups like Gretzky and Messier.  Doesn't look like that is going to happen now.  They are panicking as both players can leave as UFA's in the next 2-3 years.

Edmonton did a terrible job at addressing their goaltending and defence.  They put all of their eggs in one basket, basically to outscore the opposition and use the power play to win games.

It has backfired on them.  Bouchard cannot play defence.  Neither can Nurse.  Doesn't matter who they bring in to play goal, they are horrible playing behind that defence.  McDavid doesn't backcheck.  Perfect example was that Hintz goal the other day.

They look like the Canucks under Boudreau.  Just playing pond hockey.  They need a major shakeup from the top down, just like the Canucks did.  Ken Holland needs to retire.  Woodcroft is pretty much done.  Unfortunately, they have albatross contracts that they can't get rid of.  So they are kinds stuck.  IMO, the only way to fix that team is to trade one of McDavid or Draisaitl...

There is something wrong with McDavid, he just looks off and as he goes so does the team.

Goal wise Myers = McDavid.

I predict that they will go the same as the Wild and buying out Nurse & Campbell to a hideous penalty totals.

Trading one of the big guns for a mess of  picks and prospects-to who? arizona maybe or Columbus ?
