KingRaj91 Posted November 7, 2023 Share Posted November 7, 2023 I actually feel like Campbell is the scapegoat here, the Oilers defense in general is trash. They're a two man team and I have constantly questioned why people thought they were contenders. They have a lot of fixing up to do - they probably need another two solid DMen without losing McDavid, Drai, and RNH. Tough to do and will be interesting to see how the next few months go. Sure, they inherited several players from bumbling Benning, but JR/PA knew which ones to keep and which ones to trade. Thank goodness they traded Horvat and kept Miller. Thank goodness they traded for Hronek. Thank goodness they kept Boeser. But also adding Friedman, Soucy, Cole, Suter, Lafferty, DeSmith, and Blueger, who we've yet to see this season. They also knew which head coach to remove and which one to bring in. Like the Pres and GM, Tocchet and most of his coaching staff have won the Cup or Cups. They know what it takes.
