HuggyCareBear Posted November 10, 2023 Share Posted November 10, 2023 Watching the feed and ferraro had a pretty interesting analysis about the Hughes-Hronek pairing being similar to Toews-Makar. Neither Toews nor Hronek are that defensive type defencemen that most pundits seem to think are needed to balance out for an elite offensive defenceman. They make perfect pairings because Toews and Hronek are legitimate competent 2-way defenceman that could keep up as a good partner for both. He called it the "new age" defence.
