IMO, you shouldn't be forced to fight after making a clean hit and if an opponent forces you to do so, they deserve an extra 2 minutes.

The bigger issue with calls is the 2 instigator calls

 

The nhl was clear in letting teams know that in these cases they will be calling the prnatly as they want to reduce teams jumping an opponent for a fight after a legal.hit - where the instigator was not involved in the hit

 

Those 2 calls were clear and had to be called and Toronto knows this

 

The temper tantrum of the leafs.coach indicates they legitimately expected to be outside of the rule.

 

It's good to jump to your teammates defense But man if you can't do the time then don't do the crime

Woooooo!!! Watching with my Leaf fan wife and in laws...I've at least earned a night on the couch and the night is young!!! Going to ramp this up and maybe fight her old man!!!

The thing is that even there was a dirty hit made and they still call an instigator leaving us with 3 minute PP.  It happened to us against the Bruins years ago.  Standing up for your teammate is good but do it later in the game, not immediately right after or it's an easy call.
