While I’m very happy with where the team is now, I fail to see how Horvat forced a trade out of Vancouver. He only got the big payday AFTER he was traded which was a choice (and the correct one) made by Alvin and Rutherford.

Yeah.  My read on it at the time was management basically decided to move on / trade him but maybe still gave him a few lowball offers.

IIRC they were repeatedly reported never being close.

Or Willie D

How did I never catch on that Willie D is a surprisingly phallic nickname

Isn't Basran the equipment manager who stands in goal at practice to manage Demko's minutes?

I think it's funny, Tryamkin said far worse things about the city and fanbase but many on this board would have loved for him to return. Bo is here during the worst hockey, management, coaching in the past 20 years, he's a little hurt by the move because he gave his youth and his guts to this franchise and some fans will be DBags and boo him. F THEM! Seriously!

Tryamkin was talking about city.Horvat about fans

True. I think it was a mutual decision eventually. I don’t think Horvat requested a trade per se, but once Miller was re-signed, it probably became clear that he was going to be relegated to 3C if he took the lesser offer.

After 14 long days in Kitimat, I am finally home for the week. Away from cold and the rain back to the cold and the rain?

I won't be at this game but I will attend Saturday's game.

Hopefully, my winning attendance will keep up.

Keep on trucking. We've been a little iffy on that road trip in terms of overall play, let's get back on track at home.

So, reading the paper (electronic) this morning and came across the following:

"An African grey parrot spoke with a British accent when it disappeared from a southern California home four years ago. But Nigel spoke Spanish when he was found and returned to Darren Chick of Torrance last week."

2 wins and 1 loss is iffy? Or just not happy the Canucks were not playing their systems like they normally do?

Yeah, he's the practice goalie, for some reason I thought he had another job with the team as well.

Off topic but sad to see. This is the turn out for Panthers vs Sharks just before puck drop tonight. EMPTY!

And we fans wonder why the league office does everything they can to help the US based teams rebuild to winning levels. Fans totally disappear down there. They don’t care about the game like we do. Canada is hockey.

Sure, he could've kept his mouth shut, but I won't disparrage him for simply telling the truth about how he felt.

Also people can make mistakes. I seriously don’t know why people are upset about his comments. He was salty with management. Who gives af.

Just their play in general. I am happy with the result but I want to make sure we consistently maintain a complete team game throughout the season. It's a good habit for playoff hockey. They were not as unified in a complete team effort as they were in previous games. We played a bit off.

Not gonna be perfect in all games but will always try to strive for it. Not flaming them but having the mindset of wanting to be the best.

Habs game we did kind of get back on track. Want to see Demko come out strong after the Leafs game and Petey probably wants a strong game as well.

Wanna see us destroy the Islanders and then the Kraken since I am showing up to that game.

Bettman’s model is failing.

or working…?

use escrow revenue to continue propping up US based teams so that even if live attendance is poor, the revenue generated through TV contracts - and the increased exposure correlated with advertising revenue ops, pushes this league forward. Corporate sponsorship helps pay the bills. The league also then can utilize tv media to assist in controlling its narrative and overall management, which in turn is contrived and executed upon ultimately by Gary Bettman.

His success will be exhibited by whether he can continue to grow the media share for the league, and by extension, the above mentioned income. It makes sense for him and all the owners, even of Canadian clubs, to not question because GB is making the owners MONEY right now. Franchise fees and values are at an all time high, revenues on the rise. Mainstream exposure against other sports markets and still maintaining decent ratings. He’s grown the game…

Hate to say it but the plan IS working regardless. It’s why ARZ has been allowed to be what it is. An embarrassment. But yet the league is thriving in spite of it. These teams will get transfusions because of their media/TV deal value. Simple and a shitty part of the truth about this league. But it is what it is. Can’t be perfect.
