Florida is thrilled with the result of this draft and we feel like we're building something special with our young NHL talent and strong prospect pool. We think we're going to end up with some key pieces from this draft that will bring Florida back to the contending team we've been in the past. Future is looking bright in the Sunshine State!

Seattle Kraken prepare for expansion draft with star-studded event - martinvangrieken.nl

Seattle Kraken Draft Roundup:

11th oa: C Konsta Helenius, picked by Buffalo Sabers 14 oa

27th oa: LW Andrew Basha, picked by Calgary Flames 41st oa

30th oa: RW Ryder Ritchie, picked by Minnesota Wild 45th oa

38th oa: C Teddy Stiga, picked by Nashville Predators 55th oa

63rd oa: D Tarin Smith, picked by Anaheim Ducks 79th oa

71st oa: D Noel Fransen, picked by Carolina Hurricanes 69th oa

105th oa: G Veeti Louhivaara, picked by New Jersey Devils 145th oa

All in all a great draft in that we got our top end target, Konsta Helenius at 7th overall despite dropping back to 11th where we assumed he would be picked one or two spots before us. Andrew Basha and Ryder Ritchie are gravy on the deal that moved us back four spots to 11th. Teddy Stiga was an easy selection in the 2nd round for us, as we really feel his two way play makes him a great pivot for the 3rd line, eventually in the Big Show, with upside from there.  We feel we did well to pick up Tarin Smith and Noel Fransen in the  3rd round as well to add some D men to our depth chart. Lastly, a 6'4" tendie who we feel is about to rise over the next two years on the world level and in the Liiga overseas.  bit of a long term concept to draft goalies, but with our 105th pick we could not think of a better selection than Veeti Louhivaara, but time and perhaps this coming WJC in December will help us tell if we made the right call.

Packing up from Sphere in Vegas and heading back to Seattle for Free Agency, The Kraken are not done yet!!

Devil of a time at the Draft.....

The New Jersey Devils may have come to terms with why the organization tends NOT to draft. Kidding, sort of, I don't f'n know.. But I really enjoyed the time researching and finding player types I then targeted and drafted. I do think the collective offensive ( pool production ) upside in most of these players will prove worth the research and I will have to assume Tomas Galvas gets drafted next Entry Draft???, so I guess I am just a step ahead lol. A lot of fun regardless.

Much respect for the teams here who identify top prospect talent and seemed to have grabbed top talent well into their picks.

Eemil Vinni is higher up the Lejionat depth chart over in Finland, but I like a 6'4" translation to the NHL a bit more than a 6'2" if i remember rightly. I want to see the battle in camp for the WJC's between the two
