Obviously, we're not at the end of the season yet, so it's not the same, but in 1949-50, the top three scorers were all Red Wings: 1. Ted Lindsay 2. Sid Abel 3. Gordie Howe The famous Production line. I can't imagine that's actually possible over 82 games in the modern NHL, but it's insane that it's even being done 16 games into the season. 2 1 1

I'm still hearing some say they expect us to regress and crash hard. Well not today. This is on TSN. They didn't even bother checking... You see what you look for. I think clawing back in a game is a compliment. It's says they were down 2-0 and came back to win. Clawing back isn't a bad thing it's a good thing. To me it says our team has the grittyness and the fight to come back and win after being down a couple of goals. I'm seeing lots of media talking great things about this team. Watched a segment on the NHL network about EP40 saying he's a 12+ million dollar player.. Lots of media calling Q Hughes the best Dman or/and best player in the NHL. There's talk about Canucks being the best team in Canada. So really it's ones perspective and how they want to see things.

AatuD2
Canucks' post-game show is the best piece of Canucks programming on the air waves these days. Props to Sat and Bic. Popular Post JamesB
Great time to be a Canuck fan as the Canucks continue their best start ever. Exciting come from behind OT win. Here are some random impressions. 1. I like Horvat. He is very decent guy who did his best during his time with the Canucks. I am glad there were lots of cheers and hardly any boos, and the video tribute was good. 2. The Canucks started slow and I said to myself -- looks like of those games when the team was not really ready to play coming off a successful road trip. Fortunately, the Canucks came back strong in the 2nd period. 3. Overall, the Canucks dominated the underlying stats -- Corsi, expected goals, etc. at both 5-on-5 and overall. But I still feel we were pretty fortunate to get the win, including a late crossbar, a puck swept off the goal-line by Cole, and a pretty generous penalty differential. 4. It was weird game in that the bottom 6 played well at 5-on-5 and deserved a goal or two but all the regulation goals came on the PP . Blueger and Joshua in particular had the best expected goals differential on the team at 5-on-on, along with Garland, whereas the Miller line struggled against the Barzal/Horvat line at 5-on-5. But Miller and Boeser were great on the PP, as was Hughes. All 3 guys had 3 point nights. Hughes was deservedly named first star, playing almost 30 minutes, including a lot of tough minutes. 5. Really hope Kuzy is ok. The injury bug is hitting, with bad news on Soucy today (6-8 weeks), and suddenly Suter is out "day to day". And Myers and Petey are less than 100%. But credit to Myers who continues to play well--probably the best he has played since joining the team. And congrats to Hronek on what seems to be the hardest shot of the year in the NHL so far on the game-tying goal. 6. Juulsen and Friedman were ok but they did not play much (11:25 and 9:48). That is not sustainable, but I can see the issue. Both guys are ok in sheltered minutes but any additional responsibility carries a pretty big risk. Hope Hughes, Hronek, Myers and Cole can continue to play big minutes effectively. I am guess that Hirose comes in against Calgary. Be nice to keep the win streak going against Calgary. He was winning pucks all night for his line and was forechecking like a man posessed. Garly has been the best forward going for us over the last 10 games. JT's had more finishing ability, and Mikheyev has been great, however Garly's single-handedly dominated 5 on 5 with either the 3rd or the 4th line. I did think that Blueger's 2nd game was much better then his 1st game back from injury. If we get Suter back in the lineup, we'll be looking at the best center depth in the league. 1. JT Miller 2. Elias Petersson 3. Pius Suter 4. Teddy Blueger 5. Sam Lafferty 6. Nils Aman 7. Sheldon Dries We really have 7 centers that I'd feel comfortable throwing into an NHL game. 2

Popular Post Chronic.Canuck
I was there tonight with the Larscheiders crew... Hughes was right, it felt like we were getting the win even when we were down 2-0. Glad the crowd joined us in the BO chant during his video tribute. Hughes is on another level. We're so lucky to watch a player of his caliber through his prime. Also, loudest I've heard Rogers Arena in a while for Hronek's goal. It was overdue and came at the perfect time! Great first game of the year to attend - slow start but no complaints with the strong finish and some free overtime hockey for us in attendance. 4 2
Popular Post CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Say what you want about Bo...but he truly cared about being the captain of this city. I was miffed by his comment last season...but you can see he really wanted to end his career as a Canuck. I remember watching an interview where he truly cared about the history, the pain of this city and team. He wanted to bring success to this team badly. It pains me in some way that he isn't part of this process with us. We love ya Bo. 3 2
