Noteworthy also that Brock is the highest goal scorer in this list. BB is tied for the overall goal scoring lead with Matthews and Connor with 13. Wow! I have not seen anything like this start to the season by The Vancouver Canucks; wow. Smashing records like Hronek's 107.9 to Hughes' assists and points and all the team records. There is also a raft of recent draft picks that are still a year or more out, but they are top performers in their leagues too. I just sit here shaking my head.. well over 50 years of hockey fandom.. never seen anything like this. Even the refs are on our side now. C'mon Gary, get on board if you aren't already; this is The Cinderella Story of the NHL. 1 1 1 1

He's not hard on pucks and seems to be dealing with some sort of issues. Wait until he starts firing on all cylinders. As if things can get any better but it will when Petty starts playing his A game... I just hope that his continued play doesn't delay his recovery. Hard to sit when things are going well (and when they aren't ), but we want our Petey back to peak form ASAP

This is going on for me too. Its like the scouts dilemma: eye test or stats?
Sell.the.team
Id like to see a little more 5 on 5 consistency myself but sometimes you gotta find a way to win games and last night was a good example of that.

Gnarcore
Fell asleep on the sofa @ 2-0. Loved seeing the highlights of the new captain sending the old one home on a comeback loss

If I was to take a guess, and this is purely speculation. I would say Petey is affected by the contract negotiations. I believe he is aware of the canucks position (offer) and whatever that is isn't sitting well with him. Something like that would affect a guy. Not enough to make him play terribly, but it would take some of the heart out of the game.

Not only was it his first goal in a Canucks jersey, but it also happened to be one of the hardest shots in NHL history. Hronek shot a missile off a one-timer that left the Islanders’ goalie without a chance to save it. Source: X According to the Canucks, the shot measured a whopping 107.9 MPH, which ranks it in the top three historically, at least according to some reports on the World Wide Web. According to Rezztek, a company that makes grips for sticks used by several NHL players, Zdeno Chara has the hardest shot ever recorded in modern hockey history. Source: X During the NHL All-Star Skills Competition in 2012, Chara unleashed a slap shot that measured a whopping 108.8 miles per hour, a record-breaking number. Three years later, Shea Weber came close to breaking Chara’s record with a shot that measured 108.1 MPH. But according to Rezztek’s list of the hardest shots in modern NHL history, Filip Hronek’s 3-3 goal against the Islanders would rank as third. Of course, some shots taken haven’t been measured, and most on this list have been shot during NHL All-Star Competitions, but 107.9 is still astonishing, and Filip Hronek deserves all the praise for this incredible goal! I personally wonder if he jammed his wrist attempting a one timer with his new, ultra stiff stick.

Back online again after questioning reality for about 30 mins. Hughes, Petey and JT sharing the #1 spot in points and Boeser also in goals. Unbelieveable. I feel the same way. Could be a mass delusion.

Saw him coughing last night...wonder if he's sick? Also....I wonder if Demko starts to feel pressure if his back up plays really well. Just a thought....maybe it gets into his head if he has a bit of competition? He's such a fierce competitor and he's just been a bit off as well. Maybe it toys with him a bit if he has someone stepping up. He could have what I have. Got sick over a month ago but this cough has still lingered. It’s brutal. Every day I think I’m getting a bit better but not totally gone. I can still work out but my lung capacity feels like it’s at 60-70%.
