I'm so confused....lol. Saw BE LOVE on the back of Jordan Love's helmet and thought, "oh, that's cute". I like him for that.

But now I see it on all helmets.

D'oh.

What’s it mean?

All the NFL helmets in the playoffs have Be Love on them.

It is to honour one of my heroes Martin Luther King.

And now the Phish have the longest current playoff drought in terms of wins in the NFL.  Their last playoff victory was 23 years ago.

The Jets have the longest cirrent drought in terms of appearances.  Their last appearance being the 2010 AFC Championship game

Belichick to cowboys? Mccarthy should go.

It hasn't taken long for some in the Dallas media to jump on that wagon:

After Cowboys’ playoff disaster, Jerry Jones must fire Mike McCarthy, call Bill Belichick

I was actually surprised at how bad the Cowboys played...I thought they would lose in the next round.

I'm hella nervous about tonight's game, as I think there's a real disconnect between coaches and players.

Dolphins-Chiefs playoff game on Peacock sets streaming record

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39313570/dolphins-chiefs-playoff-game-peacock-sets-streaming-record

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Saturday night's AFC wild-card playoff game between the Miami Dolphinsand Kansas City Chiefs on Peacock set a record for the most-watched event on a streaming service.

According to Nielsen, the Chiefs' 26-7 victory in frigid temperatures averaged 23 million viewers on Peacock, NFL+ and on NBC affiliates in Kansas City and Miami. Nielsen also reported Sunday night that the game had a total reach of 27.6 million.

Fans had to pay for a Peacock subscription, which starts at $5.99, to watch the game, making it the NFL's first playoff game behind a paywall -- a move by the league that generated no shortage of complaints from fans.

Nonetheless, the average viewership easily surpassed the previous record of 15.3 million for the Nov. 30 matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys on Amazon Prime Video. It also surpassed the audiences for the Saturday night wild-card playoff games that were shown on NBC in two of the past three years.

Last year's first-round playoff game between the Los Angeles Chargers and Jacksonville Jaguarsaveraged 20.61 million viewers.

According to various reports, NBCUniversal paid $110 million for the rights to the game. Although the final score wasn't close, the Dolphins-Chiefs game had the novelty of being one of the coldest in NFL history -- and Taylor Swift was in attendance to watch her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

Judging by the audience, Saturday's game is unlikely to be the last playoff matchup shown on a streaming service.

Hans Schroeder, the NFL's executive vice president of media distribution, said viewership would be one factor in deciding if a wild card game would continue to be exclusively streamed in the future.

Under the NFL's contract, each of its four broadcast partners -- NBC, CBS, Fox and ESPN/ABC -- gets at least one wild-card game. Of the two remaining games, one rotates each year between NBC, CBS and Fox, while the other will likely be up for bid each year. That means Peacock, Paramount+, Amazon or ESPN+ could eventually be in the running.

The Houston Texans' 45-14 rout of the Cleveland Browns averaged 29 million on NBC, Peacock, digital platforms and Telemundo. That is the most watched wild-card game in the late Saturday afternoon slot since a 2018 game between the Seahawks and Cowboys averaged 30.06 million on Fox and streaming platforms.

Report: USC's Williams declares for NFL Draft

https://www.tsn.ca/nfl/source-usc-s-caleb-williams-potential-top-pick-enters-nfl-draft-19.71662

USC quarterback Caleb Williams will be entering the 2024 NFL draft, he announced on social media Monday. The decision comes on the final day that underclassmen are allowed to declare.

Williams' decision formalizes his status as the favorite to be the No. 1 pick in the draft. His formal entry now highlights the Chicago Bears' offseason conundrum of keeping Justin Fields or trading him to (presumably) build around Williams.

Williams' decision is not a huge surprise. It had been clear since USC's disappointing 2023 season ended that he'd wait until the final day he could make a decision, similar to how C.J. Stroud waited until the final day to decide last year.

The debate surrounding Williams in scouting circles isn't whether he's the No. 1 pick in the draft, but rather whether he is a once-a-decade type prospect or a generational one. Williams' use of varied arm angles, his improvisational wizardry and his ability to use his legs combine for an intriguing package.

Williams won the Heisman Trophy at USC in 2022 and put together another strong season in 2023, even as USC's record dipped from an 11-3 playoff contender to an 8-5 Pac-12 also-ran. Williams completed 68.6 passes for 3,633 yards in 12 games in 2023, compared to 66.6-percent for 4,537 yards in 14 games the previous year.

While Williams didn't replicate his Heisman magic and USC's team performance dipped -- much because of an apathetic defense -- his maintained consistent performance, and his status as the top player and quarterback in this class is still secure.

ESPN polled a half-dozen scouts and executives Monday, and none could see a scenario other than Williams going No. 1. "I'd be shocked if he wasn't," one veteran scout said. Another added: "He's the best player at the most important position."

Williams finishes his career, including his freshman year at Oklahoma when he won the starting job from Spencer Rattler, with a total of 93 touchdown passes, 14 interceptions and 10,082 yards in three seasons. He went 23-10 in his career as a starter and appeared in 37 total games, per ESPN Stats & Information.

Williams also accounted for 21 rushing touchdowns in his two seasons at USC. Perhaps no statistic sums up his pure talent and potential more than him executing 10 career games of five or more touchdowns responsible for. Per ESPN Stats & Information, only Patrick Mahomes had more in the College Football Playoff era.

Williams and former North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye entered the season as the projected No. 1 and No. 2 picks in the draft. Both of their teams had uneven seasons, but neither quarterback did anything to change that status. LSU's Jayden Daniels thrust himself into the fringes of that conversation with a resplendent Heisman Trophy season, as no quarterback did more to increase his stock than Daniels in 2023. One year after Alabama's Bryce Young and Stroud went No. 1 and No. 2, the wholesale expectation is for quarterbacks to fly off in the top two spots again. If two quarterbacks go No. 1 and No. 2, it would mark the tenth time in NFL history that quarterbacks have gone at that position.

Williams gives the 2024 draft its definitive headliner, as the Bears' decision on the pick will loom over the league in the upcoming months.

He's a Hall of Famer from the neck down.  He reminds me a lot of Manziel with his ego though.   Bears would be wise to trade down for a haul.
